Rethinking Evangelism: Faithful witness in a new apostolic era
July 22-24, 2013
Luther Seminary
You’ve thought about evangelism before … maybe it’s time to rethink it.
Rethinking Evangelism is an opportunity to take an honest look at how we might share and live the good news of the gospel with integrity.
Many people have an aversion to the word evangelism. At the same time, we know that we have this gift of good news in a world that desperately needs to hear it. Sharing this gift is at the heart of what it means to be the church. So how do we do it?
Rethinking Evangelism invites you to leave all your preconceived notions of evangelism at the door. Together with nationally known preachers, teachers and pastors we will free ourselves to look at evangelism in a new way for the time and place we find ourselves in. The tensions exist, yet we can struggle with this anxiety without having it weigh us down or keeping us from starting fresh.
Together we will explore how we can reclaim evangelism as a central practice for Christians in daily life today.
Listen to David Lose, director of the Center for Biblical Preaching; and Rolf Jacobson, associate professor of Old Testament and moderator at this year's event, talk about what it means to rethink evangelism today.
