Prior to coming to Luther Seminary in December 2010, Lane served as the director for Steward Key Leaders, a program of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, for six years. He has also served as a pastor of three congregations and as an assistant to the bishop of the Northwestern Minnesota Synod of the ELCA.

Prior to working at the Center for Stewardship Leaders full time, Grace received her bachelor's degrees in math and religion from St. Olaf College and a master's degree in congregational mission and leadership from Luther Seminary. She is the author of the Frugal-Communityblog, which offers tips for living a fun and frugal life on a graduate student’s budget.
The VCP then identified congregations that are exemplary in each of these six areas. These identified congregations are now partnering with leaders at Luther Seminary in exploration of their respective dimension. This partnership will continue over the course of the next few years.
