Paul  S. Berge , 63, professor emeritus of New Testamentcontinues to serve as director of Vision Slovakia, a partnership ministry of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, Minn., with the Center for Christian Education in Martin, Slovakia. He and his spouse, Mary Ellen, taught vacation Bible school with elementary students in Martin. He presented a paper on Christian education at the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences World Congress at the University of Zilina in Slovakia.

, presidentco-led a trip to Turkey and Greece following the missionary travels of the Apostle Paul. He attended the International Missiological Society meeting in Canada. He traveled in October to Sweden's Johannalund Seminary to present a paper titled "Theological Education and the Academy."

Paul  A Daniels , archivist and curatorwas elected to the office of secretary for the Archivists of Religious Collections Section of the Society of American Archivists.

Michael  DeLashmutt , associate dean for first theological degree programspresented "Studying Technology and Ecclesiology in a Multisite Church" at the Ecclesiology and Ethnography conference at Luther Seminary. The paper will be published in the Journal of Contemporary Religion in 2013. He will serve as a peer reviewer with the Higher Learning Commission and has been appointed as the external examiner for the academic programs at Virginia Theological Seminary.

Lois  Farag , associate professor of early church historyassociate professor of early church history, was invited to Primer Congreso Internacional de Estudios Patristicos, a conference in San Juan, Argentina. She delivered a paper titled "The Identity of Jesus Christ in the Coptic Orthodox Tradition." She attended the 10th International Congress of Coptic Studies in Rome, where she delivered a paper titled "The Theology of AnbaYusab, Bishop of Jirja and Akhmim."

Mark  A. Granquist , associate professor of church historyreceived an honorable mention in the Associated Church Press' Best of the Christian Press Awards 2011. The award was for an ongoing series of columns in the Metro Lutheran, "Faithful and Reforming: Lutheran History over 500 Years." Mark also published an article, "The Popular Perceptions of Martin Luther in American Culture," in the Trinity Seminary Review.
