Recently defected from a sex trafficking ring, Amber Cregg has immunity, and a story to tell. Will she cooperate and aid the side of justice, or will she continue to her deep allegiance to her former pimp?
Minneapolis is one of the top 13 cities in the United States for sex trafficking. It’s become an industry in Minnesota, and it’s a problem that is often overlooked and misunderstood. “BOTTOM” peels back the layers of this complex and difficult issue of human trafficking in an honest and compelling way. The play forces the questions: What exactly is at the heart of the problem? And how are we going to address this issue as people of faith, as a community and as a state?
A panel discussion will follow the performance, opening dialogue around the issue. The panel members will speak to the issue from the perspectives of advocacy, local efforts and faith in public life. Opportunity for informal conversation and refreshments will be available afterward.
This play approaches a raw and difficult topic and the performance reflects this reality; due to strong language and disturbing content, “BOTTOM” is most appropriate for persons 13 and up.
