Student Council

Student Council is the student organization that advocates through a number of programs for high quality community, academic and student life at the seminary. Student Council meets monthly as a full council and typically one other time a month in smaller action teams.

During 2009-2010 the seminary will continue to be engaged in a strategic planning process, giving even more importance to the leadership voice provided by the student council.

The Student Council is made up of 12 standing members and five at-large members. These representatives shall be two persons from each MDiv class (junior, middler, and senior), two seats from each MA class (junior and senior), one intern and one post-graduate student.  The at-large member positions will be determined based on the composition of the student body each year in order to provide the greatest diversity of voices within the Student Body.

The at-large seats are open to any class/degree program so long as the nominee meets one of the designated requirements. There is one seat available to each of the following: an international student, an ecumenical student, a second career student (35 yrs old or older), a commuter student, and one Distributive Learning student.  (The DL status is based on being on one of the Distributive Learning programs which is more than an occasional on-line course.)

The student council advisor for 2009-10 is Erica Kennedy, Assistant Director for Financial Aid.
