Student Council

Student Council is the student organization that advocates through a number of programs for high quality community, academic and student life at the seminary. Student Council meets monthly as a full council and typically one other time a month in smaller action teams.

The Student Council is made up of 12 standing members and five at-large members. These representatives shall be two persons from each M.Div. class (junior, middler, and senior), two seats from each M.A. class (junior and senior), one intern and one post-graduate student. The at-large member positions will be determined based on the composition of the student body each year in order to provide the greatest diversity of voices within the Student Body.

The at-large seats are open to any class/degree program so long as the nominee meets one of the designated requirements. There is one seat available to each of the following: an international student, an ecumenical student, a second career student, a commuter student, and one Distributive Learning student. (The DL status is based on being on one of the Distributive Learning programs which is more than an occasional on-line course.)

The student council advisor is Carrie Carroll, Dean of Students

Student Council for 2013-14

In the Spring Semester 2012-13 the student body will elect Student Council representatives in two categories: MDIV Middler and MA senior.  These members were responsible for representing student voices during the summer semester and will continue to serve during the 2013-14 Academic Year.  They are also responsible for helping to recruit and organize the elections for the remaining Student Council members for the 2013-14 Academic year.

Ballots for MDIV middler and MA Senior seats have been sent directly to the students eligible to vote in those categories.   The ballot for the revisions to the Student Council constitution will be sent to all students.

Voting will being on Tuesday, April 23 and conclude by midnight (CDT) on Thursday, April 25.
