Flashcard Module

How do I open the flash card module?

For BibleWorks 7, from the Tools menu choose "Vocabulary Flashcard Module."

For BibleWorks 8, from the Tools menu choose "Language Tools" and then choose "Vocabulary Flashcard Module."

You will then have to choose which vocab cards to open (Hebrew Old Testament; Greek New Testament, Croy [if you've installed his files], etc.)

  • BibleWorks 8:

How do I study words occurring 50 times or more in the New Testament?

  1. Open the module (see above).
  2. From the File menu in the flashcard module window, choose Open....
  3. Choose the file gntvoc.vrc, and click Open.
  4. From the Tools menu in the flashcard module window, choose Filter.... Here, if you are using a list of vocabulary words from a textbook, you can filter by that textbook's chapter, or you can filter by frequency in the Bible. You can also choose to include only those words in a particular portion of the Bible.
  5. To study only those words that appear 50 times or more in the New Testament, choose "Filter by frequency range" and fill in the numbers 50 and 20000. Also choose "Include all words in vocabulary file."

Your filter window should look like this:

How do I study words occurring in a particular New Testament passage?

  1. Open the module (see above).
  2. From the Tools menu in the flashcard module window, choose Filter.... The window will look like the image above.
  3. Disregard "Filter by Chapter Range." This refers to chapters in Greek textbooks, not the Bible.
  4. Uncheck "Filter by Frequency Range" unless you want to filter both by frequency and by a particular verse range.
  5. Choose "Include only words in this verse range."
  6. Fill in the verse range whose words you want to study (e.g. John 11:1-7).
