To import citation data from a database search into your EndNote library it is important to choose the correct import filter so that data ends up in the correct fields.
During the export phase of database searching you may be asked what format to save your citations in. Choose something like this: Save citations to a file formatted for: Direct Export to EndNote, ProCite, or Reference Manager.
You may have the option to email yourself the file.
To import the file File -> Import. Next a dialog box appears. Choose your file, then specify the import filter. This varies a bit. For ATLA use ATLA Religion (EBSCO); for Academic Search Premier (EBSCO) and ERIC (search on http://www.eric.ed.gov ) use Reference Manager (RIS). The citations will be imported to your EndNote Library (.enl). To make all citations appear, Ctrl + M.
