Persons eligible for scholarships are persons who intend to be or already are missionaries. One should have a heart for mission, and should be serious about full-time ministry as a missionary. It is preferred, but not required, that such a person be committed to Lutheran theology. It is primarily intended that the contemplated missionary service be outside the United States, but such missionary service may include service to immigrant or ethnic groups within the United States, and might possibly include service to unchurched people in the United States.
