Teaching Congregations: Spring 2014
For those who are new to campus in Spring 2014, welcome. For those of you returning for the spring, welcome back!
Many of you have questions about the Teaching Congregations program in Spring 2014. We're happy to provide answers to these questions here!
Q. Should I take Teaching Congregations in Spring 2014?
A. Students completing their MDiv or CML MA via the distributive curriculum should continue to take Teaching Congregations FE 4021 and FE 4022 until all four semesters have been completed. These classes will remain non-credit degree requirements. You do not have take your four semesters consecutively, but if you just completed your third semester, it might be best to sign up for FE 4022 in Spring 2014 to complete the degree requirement.
Q. How do I start a semester of Teaching Congregations?
A. There are three answers to this question:
1. If you do not need a new placement and have already submitted your Learning Agreement for 2013 - 2014, no further action is required. You may begin your contextual work.
2. If you do not need a new placement but did not submit your Learning Agreement last semester, please submit that by March 1 as you begin your contextual work.
3. If you need a new placement, please begin by reviewing the Site List. If no site works for you, your chosen mentor pastor may add his or her site to the list using the Site Profile Form. From there, submit your Site Preferences Form as soon as possible. Once your Site Preferences Form is on file, our office will make your assignment and send you an email confirmation. You will have to submit a Learning Agreement by March 1 as you begin your contextual work.
All deadlines, forms and resources are available on the Teaching Congregations coursepage, under “Forms & Resources”.
Q. How do I complete a semester of Teaching Congregations?
A. All Student and Mentor Pastor Reflection Questions are due Monday May 5 for graduating seniors and Monday May 12 for non-graduating students.
Q. Oh, no! Why isn't my last semester listed with a "P" for Pass?
A. See me for help, please.
