Teaching Congregations and Christian Public Leader: Reflection Questions and Program Updates

This is a quick, friendly reminder that Teaching Congregations Reflection Questions were due May 5 for graduating seniors and May 12 for non-graduating students. Students may find an online form for their Student Reflection Questions on the FE 4022 coursepage. Mentor pastors may find an online form for their Mentor Pastor Reflection Questions at the following link: If a student or a mentor pastor would prefer a hard copy, please contact Contextual Learning for assistance.

Meanwhile, Teaching Congregations will transition to Christian Public Leader at the end of the 2013 – 2014 academic year. Next year, Teaching Congregations will be offered only to students completing their graduation requirements as per the distributive curriculum. This will remain a non-credit degree requirement. Students and supervisors should be in touch with Contextual Learning at

If you are a pastor who would like to become part of the new CPL program, please contact Contextual Learning by Thursday July 31, 2014. In early August, we will be contacting interested mentor pastors with the new Mentor Christian Public Leader Site Profile Form, along with details about the improved placement process and inaugural launch event on Sept. 12, 2014. If you have any questions, please stop by the office of Contextual Learning, call us at 651-641-3266 or email!

If you are a student who would like to join the new CPL program, please review your degree plan to determine whether taking CPL is right for you. If you want to explore academic and theological questions in a context, if you’re taking coursework that requires you to work on projects in a context, or if your candidacy committee requires you to participate in a context for a semester or more, then this course is definitely for you!
