New Volunteer and Job Opportunities: City Camp, Project for Pride in Living

We are excited to share some new volunteer and leadership opportunities: a Summer Chaplain/Community Leader for City Camp in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Pre-K Volunteer for PPL Scholars in St. Paul, Minnesota. Please read on for more details.

City Camp, Philadelphia PA

In Summer 2015, the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania will hire around 30 summer team members, many of whom live together in community in Philadelphia. These team members travel to parishes throughout the Diocese to lead day camp programming. At the end of the camp day, residential staff return to their shared home, helping each other with evening chores and gathering for communal prayer and worship.

This season, the Diocese hopes to create a new position: a Chaplain/Community Leader for City Camp's residential staff. This person would live in community with the staff, aiding them in spiritual formation and community living as they navigate their demanding jobs as camp staff. The person in this position will work with the Camp Director to plan and lead spiritual formation and community life programming, as well as provide extra hands-on staff support and pastoral care to day camp team members and campers.

Are you interested in this summer position? For more information, please visit the Diocese's website (http://www.diopayouth.org/city-camp.html), or contact Youth Ministry Assistant Anna Salorio at annie@diopayouth.org.

PPL Scholars at Fort Road Flats, St. Paul MN

Project for Pride in Living Youth Development strives to empower students from low-income families to achieve success in school and in life through academic support and hands on enrichment opportunities. Volunteer mentors are matched one-on-one with a student, and support the student’s social and academic growth through literacy activities, relationship-building, and enrichment projects.  PPL’s Pre-K Program @ Fort Road Flats serves students ages 3-5, living in affordable housing through PPL.

The commitment would be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm to 7:30pm for one school year.

Are you interested in this volunteering position? For more information, please visit PPL's website, or contact Volunteer Coordinator Anna Preus at anna.preus@ppl-inc.org.
