During the twelfth assembly of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) in Windhoek, Namibia, LWF elected a new president: Luther Seminary graduate Musa Panti Filibus, ’98. Filibus hails from Nigeria and has worked closely with LWF, serving as area secretary for Africa in the Department for Mission and Development, director of the Department for Mission and Development and Deputy General Secretary. In 2017 he was elected archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria.
Filibus is the 13th president of LWF and the second president from Africa.
