One of the many exciting offerings of Luther Seminary’s Reformation Festival is the chance to experience The National Lutheran Choir performing “Holy Spirit Mass.” This is a new choral work that was commissioned for the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Composed by Kim André Arnesen, “Holy Spirit Mass” will premiere in just two cities in the United States. Your chance to attend this historic event will be during the Reformation Festival held from Oct. 27 to Oct. 28, 2017.
Those interested in music will find much to enjoy at the festival. Workshops on hymnody, choral music, singing in assembly, Latino music and global music will be available. In addition, workshops on the role of instruments such as African drums and the organ will be offered. Composer Marty Haugen will be presenting on “The Assembly Singing as an Instrument.”
There is much to celebrate as we commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
