Commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation this month with the recently released “Most Certainly True.” Edited by Luther Seminary Professor Mark Granquist, this volume of “Lutheran History at a Glance” tells the story of 75 different Lutherans over the course of 500 years of Reformation history.
The 75 accounts in this book focus on the stories of individuals, groups and events from 1517 onward. While many histories of the Reformation focus on the big names and even bigger narratives, this volume fills in the gaps of how everyday people lived as Lutherans. The publisher states, “The stories themselves illustrate their particular time and place, and give you, the reader, a sense of how Lutherans lived out their faith in their particular context.”
Each of the 75 stories is brief, at just around 800 words, making this an ideal book for private study or use at church events.
