Thanks to a record number of donors, Give to the Max Day 2011 made a major impact for nonprofits statewide. In total 47,354 donors gave more than $13 million to Minnesota nonprofits during the 24 hours of giving. Luther Seminary placed in the top 10% of participating higher education institutions based on total dollars received.
Thanks to the generous support of more than 200 donors, $34,210 was raised for Luther Seminary on Nov. 16. All gifts to the Sustaining Fund were matched dollar-for-dollar thanks to a friend of Luther Seminary, making an even greater impact for future church leaders.
What inspired people to give a gift to Luther Seminary this year? Luther Seminary received many comments from those who gave on Nov. 16 on Luther’s GiveMN.org page. Among them was Blair Anderson, ’74, who wrote, “I’m very grateful for Luther’s outstanding work in developing apostolic leaders for the 21st century.”
Among those who value and supported Luther were friends, alums, staff, students, board members and many others. Deborah Jorgens, a Master of Divinity junior, wrote about why she gave, “I’m a current student and my experience has been even greater than I anticipated!”
