On March 28, Thomas Long will deliver the 2012 Aus Memorial Lecture, titled “Reading Other People’s Mail: Preaching New Testament Epistles as Gospel for a Disenchanted Culture.” The event will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Incarnation in the Olson Campus Center. Long is the Bandy Professor of Preaching at Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta.
Long is the author of numerous books and articles on preaching and worship, as well as biblical commentaries on Matthew and Hebrews. He served as the senior homiletics editor of “The New Interpreter’s Bible” and he is an editor-at-large for the Christian Century. His latest book is “What Shall We Say? Evil, Suffering, and the Crisis of Faith” (2011).
