Krista Tippett knows how to talk about God. The granddaughter of a Southern Baptist preacher, she launched a journalism career with the New York Times and attended Yale Divinity School. Now the host of the Peabody-winning Minnesota Public Radio show On Being, she will visit the Luther Seminary campus Feb. 19.
Tippett will lecture on "Speaking of Faith: Why Religion Matters and How to Think About it." The audience will have an opportunity to hear Tippett discuss the same big questions she addresses in her show, which is broadcast nationally on public radio stations and across the world online.
An Evening with Krista Tippett begins at 7 p.m. in the Olson Campus Center in St. Paul. Attendees can also enjoy dinner before the event. A lasagna dinner buffet will be served from 5-6:30 p.m. for $10. Those interested may reserve seats at dinner by contacting Lynne Moratzka at firstname.lastname@example.org or 651-641-3419. A limited number of reservations are available at the door. Valet parking will be provided for $5.
A freewill offering will be collected at the event to support the Luther Seminary FRIENDS endowed scholarship fund. The FRIENDS is a group of more than 200 people from Twin Cities area congregations who support and minister to the seminary through prayer, financial gifts and volunteering.
