Things are exciting right now at Luther Seminary. Part of that excitement may come from the fact that the weather has finally broken. After a long, extremely cold winter—even by Minnesota standards—the sun is out and the birds are singing. Spring is here, and with it comes the delights of green grass and budding flowers. At a deeper level, we are looking forward to the joy of Easter, as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We’re also excited about our recent news: On June 1, the Rev. Dr. Robin Steinke will begin her tenure as Luther Seminary’s president.
We are blessed to welcome Robin. She is a pastor, a scholar and a leader. She is a gracious woman of faith with a wide array of gifts. In prayer, and in discernment with others, she has sensed a call to serve here at Luther. That sense of call is evident in talking with her, and I am glad it was confirmed through a very thorough search process. Robin will now join a remarkable and resilient Luther community as our new leader, and that is exciting!
Just as spring faithfully leads us out of winter each year, I am confident that God has prepared and called Robin to lead Luther Seminary into a faithful and fulfilling future.
Take care,
Rick Foss
