• Guest Housing Hospitality (2 open positions)

  PURPOSE: To be a visible presence on the Luther Seminary Campus. Providing hospitality and promoting and improving safety and security for the Luther community. This position will assist the Stub Hall Head Resident and deliver backup support in their absence, by providing typical concierge service to ensure excellent, safe hospitality to the Stub Hall residents.   POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Greet and welcome guests upon their arrival to Stub Hall  from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on weeknights and weekends. 2. Serve as point person for all hospitality inquiries during guest stay. 3. Collect payments and returned keys upon guest departure. 4. Report cleaning and maintenance issues in a timely manner. 5.   PURPOSE The purpose of this position is to deliver US and campus mail daily to all students and departments of Luther Seminary.   POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Receive and sort USPS mail, UPS shipments, etc. Deliver mail to each building’s department mail boxes. Pick up mail to be mailed out from outgoing boxes on Campus. Place mail in Student mail boxes in the Campus Center mailroom. Mail UPS packages for departments on Campus. • IT Help Desk Student Assistant

  The IT Helpdesk is the central point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and alumni who have technology-related questions or problems. It is the public face of the Office of Technology. This position works in a team environment providing the first level of computer services and support. Student workers are expected to triage a technology problem and solve it using analysis, troubleshooting techniques, and FAQ documentation in order to solve IT issues for the entire Luther Seminary community.   POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES 1. IT Help Desk Support Serve as the initial point of contact for the walk-ups, phone calls, and emails at the IT Helpdesk. Maintain a professional demeanor with individuals seeking help and provide support in a clear, calm manner. Provide general information and technical support to Students, Faculty, Alumni, and Staff, following defined procedures for escalating issues when necessary. This includes, but is not limited to, services regarding software, hardware, networking, printing, telephones, user accounts, and online services. Troubleshoot and resolve reported IT issues. Document all issues and problems within the IT tracking system. Update documentation as needed & help with training of new student workers, as directed by the IT Helpdesk Manager. Proactively contact Students, Faculty, and Staff to follow-up on previously reported problems, researching the issue where necessary. Deploy and test equipment around campus as needed. Must be able to keep personal information about users to themselves and not share that information outside of the Office of Technology. 2. A/V, Events, and Classroom Support Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance for on-campus Audio/Visual resources. Act as support staff for on-campus events that have a significant technology component to them, as directed by the IT Helpdesk Manager. Document all issues and problems within the IT tracking system. Operate recording/streaming equipment as scheduled. Perform video editing as needed. 3. Other duties as assigned. Perform other tasks related to the operation of the IT Helpdesk or Office of Technology as assigned. Ensure Luther Seminary Data security by strictly managing confidential account information. Notify supervisor or IT Director of mission-critical situations. Student workers report directly to the IT Helpdesk Manager & the Director of the Office of Technology in consultation with the Associate Director of User Support for Augsburg University. Student workers will work directly with the IT Techdesk Manager for Augsburg University, the Classroom and Presentation Space Technology Manager, and any professional Information Technology personnel serving Luther Seminary, as well as other Student Workers at Luther Seminary and Augsburg University. Student workers will be providing services for Students, Faculty, Staff, and Alumni.   POSITION QUALIFICATIONS A. • Head Resident

  PURPOSE The Head Resident position serves as a liaison between Luther Seminary staff and students living in seminary housing. The Head Resident provides community leadership through a variety of roles/responsibilities: as a resource for building and maintaining a positive living/learning community, as a source of information on seminary policies, and as a provider of referral services that enhance the residential experience at Luther Seminary.   POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Staff Development and Training Attend initial training meeting and check-in meetings throughout the year as scheduled by the Associate Director of Student Affairs; Complete CPR training before the start of the academic year. Community Building Plan and implement community-building activities (example: a community meal, cookout, picnic, bonfire, worship, outing, etc) each semester; Act as a liaison with the Community Life Fellows in the promotion of community-wide events. Food Shelf Responsible for inventory management and purchasing necessary items; Scheduling set hours and promoting availability; Tracking general usage; Bringing forward the greatest needs to the Luther community. Administrative Responsibilities Assist students in submitting maintenance requests; Assist with and complete administrative tasks in a timely manner, as directed by the Associate Director of Student Affairs; Discuss incidents of note with the Associate Director of Student Affairs to determine appropriate action. Residential Life Team Uphold all rules, regulations, and policies of Luther Seminary and the Student Affairs office, specifically those noted in the Housing Guide and Student Handbook; Be an active and respectful community leader in all facets of the Head Resident position; Develop a positive working relationship with the Business Office, Campus Watch, Facilities, Maintenance Staff, Student Affairs Staff and other Luther Seminary staff members; Be responsible for initial check-ins, walk-throughs and housing orientations with new residents; must be on-campus during peak periods: September, January, and the end of May/beginning of June. Extended time away from campus should be discussed with the Associate Director of Student Affairs. Community Resource and Referrals Be available to assist in and able to respond to emergency situations involving health, security and safety of students; Serve as a knowledgeable resource for students concerning seminary support services (e.g. Campus Pastor, Community Food Shelf, Counseling Support, Financial Aid, International Student and Scholar Affairs, Student Affairs and others) as identified by the Associate Director of Student Affairs; Act as first point of contact for physical, personal, social, or environmental health concerns, and refer to Associate Director of Student Affairs as necessary; Provide crisis response and necessary follow-up with appropriate staff. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Full-time student at Luther Seminary in good academic and behavioral standing; Must live in on-campus housing during tenure of position, preference for those living in Stub; Must have lived in on-campus housing one semester prior to position or have previous resident advisor (or equivalent) experience.
