Devotion
When I think of life’s complexities, I cannot help but think of myself as simple and senseless. My thoughts often waver and I can be so easily at a loss for words. What should and should not be done? Who can know for sure even when the facts are clear-cut and certain? All the knowledge and information in the world can contribute to insight and maturity, but cannot guarantee it.
How kind it is, then, for Wisdom to call from the highest places and invite us to dine at her table of love and forgiveness. The bread and wine she offers fills us with God’s goodness and grace and thus lifts us up to be humane and not just human; concerned and not just interested; wise children of God and not just foolish servants of ourselves.
Prayer
O Wisdom, thank you for inviting us to your table of love and forgiveness. Deliver us from our immaturity and fill us with your insights. Enliven us to go forth and lead grace-filled lives. Amen.
