Do you need help improving your writing? Not sure how to cite your sources? The Writing Center is a great campus resource for help with many kinds of writing issues.
The Center is located in Northwestern Hall, but on Thursday evenings you'll find it in the library. Peter Susag, Associate Director of the Writing Center, will hold office hours in our group study room on Thursdays from 5-8 pm. For more information on the services offered by the Writing Center, visit http://luthersem.libguides.com/writingcenter. And to experience those services on a Thursday evening, visit the library!
If you are a Luther student who is studying from a distance, we have some great news for you! You are now eligible to use the libraries of quite a few other theological schools around the country, due to a new reciprocal borrowing agreement between members of the American Theological Library Association.
Here's how it works: you present proof of your current enrollment to a participating library, and agree to abide by their borrowing policies. They may contact us to make sure you are in good standing here before they issue you a card.
For a list of participating schools and libraries, check this page.
Luther Seminary Library also welcomes students from participating libraries to borrow here. See our borrowing policies for details and contact Karen Alexander (651-641-3301, email@example.com) with questions.
You may have noticed that our circulation area has been completely dismantled. The desk is gone, the shelves are gone, and the artwork and books are gone. All that's left are a few cables sticking up from the carpet. What's happening here?
Well, this is the last phase of bringing Gullixson Hall and the library into compliance with ADA standards. Some modifications are being made to the circulation desk so that it will have a wheelchair accessible section. While our desk is being reconfigured and refinished, we will be freshening up the circulation area with new lighting and paint.
Keep an eye on our space, because you'll be seeing some big changes here. And in the meantime, check out and return your books and ask all your questions at the Reference Desk!
Work has begun on our stack elevator! While we're very happy to be having the updates made, it does mean that we are completely without elevator service for the next 5 weeks or so. Please call the circulation desk at 651-641-3447 to ask for assistance in getting books if this means you will not be able to get into the library.
As of July 1, 2014 borrowing privileges at Luther Seminary Library are open to our extended community for the cost of $50 per year. You may open an extension borrower account in person Monday through Friday, 8-5, paying with cash or check at the circulation desk. To pay with Visa, MasterCard or Discover, use our online registration form.
Extension borrowers with existing accounts will need to pay to renew their accounts by July 1, 2015. The $50 fee is waived for Luther Seminary alumni.
Please contact the library Circulation Desk with your questions, 651-641-3447 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
