It’s the time of year in the United States when families gather together to feast and give thanks. Though Thanksgiving is a secular holiday, the act of giving thanks is a central practice in the life of faith.
So today, on behalf of the entire Luther Seminary community, I give thanks to God!
Thanks be to God for Luther Seminary students—for their curiosity, hard work, and willingness to participate in God’s mission both at the seminary and in the communities where they’ll be called to serve.
Thanks be to God for Luther Seminary faculty—for their hearts for teaching, excellent scholarship, and service to the church and the world.
Thanks be to God for Luther Seminary staff—for the way they bring the mission and vision of the seminary to life through the faithful exercise of the varieties of gifts God has given them.
Thanks be to God for Luther Seminary alumni all around the globe—for their ministries, leadership, and faithful proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a world that so desperately needs it.
Thanks be to God for Luther Seminary supporters—for those who pray for us, give to the mission of Luther Seminary, and challenge us, thus making our work possible.
Thanks be to God for the congregations that have nurtured the faith and lives of everyone connected to Luther Seminary—for listening ears, financial support, conversations of discernment, and faithful ministries.
In these and all things, thanks be to God!
Peace,
Robin J. Steinke, President
