Over the years, the growing community of church leaders studying at Luther Seminary and engaging our many online resources has made clear to us the need for more face-to-face learning opportunities as well as more hybrid and online offerings. As we continue plans for moving from our current physical campus to a new location, we are excited to have both a smaller footprint and a bigger reach.<\/p>\n

We are in multiple conversations\u2014both internally and externally\u2014about what our educational mission requires as we amplify our rigorous, face-to-face learning rooted in the multiple contexts of our learners. Though we do not yet know exactly where our new physical location will be, we know that Luther Seminary will remain in the Twin Cities area. We understand how important a sense of place is to any human community, and we remain deeply committed to the broad network of relationships we have built in Minnesota, the Upper Midwest, across the country, and with our global partners over the last 150 years.<\/p>\n

Divesting from the seminary\u2019s current campus is one part of an ongoing process to embrace more flexible models of education that amplify our mission, allow more face-to-face learning, and meet learners where they are in context, including in new forms of Christian community. This fall, we welcome one of our largest entering classes at Luther Seminary in nearly a decade. We look forward to continuing to listen and learn alongside them as they prepare to serve as pastors, deacons, and leaders.<\/p>\n

If you know of someone who is wondering what God may be stirring in their life, our digital ministries, online Faith+Lead courses, and certificate programs offer myriad ways to explore a sense of call. We invite you to use and share these resources widely in your own life and work. Keep sending us your future pastors, deacons, and leaders by referring them to online Faith+Lead courses<\/a>, sharing Working Preacher resources<\/a> with them, and inviting them to study ministry<\/a> at Luther Seminary.<\/p>\n

We are grateful for everything God has given to Luther Seminary. And we are grateful for such an abiding and profound sense of purpose\u2014living into ever new ways of being in the world and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n
