This June, we graduated 128 students\u2014well-trained, faithful leaders who are stepping into vocations of service all around the globe. These graduates are the next generation\u2019s pastors, teachers, and faithful innovators, called and sent by the Holy Spirit to witness to salvation through Jesus Christ and to serve in God\u2019s world.<\/p>\n
Where will their vocational journeys take them?<\/p>\n
After the past couple of years, I couldn\u2019t even begin to guess! Of course, they\u2019ll do what our graduates have done for generations: become pastors, scholars, and leaders in the church \u2026 but in our rapidly changing world, I\u2019m sure the Holy Spirit will do much more!<\/p>\n
How will they innovate new forms of Christian community? How will they share the good news of Jesus Christ in new, yet faithful and effective, ways? It will be thrilling to see it all unfold.<\/p>\n
I give thanks daily for the work God has called us to do at Luther Seminary. We celebrate our 153rd commencement and give thanks for the ways that God is leading us into new ways of being community, sharing the gospel of Jesus with the world, and innovating the future of theological education.<\/p>\n
And you are a vital part of this work. Your prayers, your commitment to our shared mission to educate Christian leaders, and your faithfulness in uncertain times make it possible for Luther Seminary to continue to be led by God into a new future.<\/p>\n
