On social media, we asked the Luther Seminary community to share their podcast projects, and here are some of their responses:<\/p>\n

\u201cPastor Dana Becker and I spend most Sunday afternoons discussing the sermon, what worked, what didn\u2019t, and stuff that didn\u2019t make the final edit. We decided to record these discussions and have a place for a \u201ccontinued conversation\u201d around the sermon, text, and whatever else is going on in the world, because there\u2019s simply too much to include in one sermon each week.\u201d \u2013 Matthew Schroeder<\/p>\n

\u201cWe create a real-play Dungeons and Dragons podcast, following the adventures of four Lutheran Church Council members who get pulled through a portal and deposited into a magical fantasy world that doesn’t know or care about Jesus. Through this medium, we are exploring issues of discipleship\u2014specifically, trying to dig into what it might look like to try to follow Jesus in the midst of a society that has no conception of Jesus or Christianity. What values do we hold to? How do we make decisions? What are our instincts\u2014are they right, or do we need to change them for the sake of these new neighbors?\u201d \u2013 Ben Loven<\/span><\/p>\n

\"A\u201cMy Bad Poetry\u201d with David Nissen \u201916 M.Div. and Aaron Holmgren \u201916 M.Div.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThis podcast started as a pandemic project when I came across my old journal that was filled with very earnest (emo) poetry. Dave and I were roommates in seminary, and I knew he would be a great friend to bring along on this journey through these old bad poems. Our conversations range from talks on poetic forms, toxic masculinity, mental health, nostalgia, and needed context. Since the start of the show, we have had the incredible joy and privilege of chatting with several poets and friends who have been willing to share their own embarrassing work. <\/span>We have 174 episodes spread out over seven seasons and hope to begin recording season eight this fall.\u201d \u2013 Aaron Holmgren<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe interview people about the things they are creating, and we talk about the life-giving aspects of creativity. Our reach is vast and diverse; we have spoken with well-known people like author Rob Bell and astronaut Karen Nyberg, as well as lesser-known but equally interesting people who are potters, bakers, poets, influencers, and much more. We are approaching 100 episodes this autumn.\u201d \u2013 Ruth Hetland<\/span><\/p>\n
