A schedule overview

Below is an overview schedule for 2017. A detailed schedule will be available Monday afternoon and at registration on Tuesday morning. 

Monday, August 28

1:00 pm

Campus Open House

Pick up your nametag, schedule, parking pass, and student ID, and take time to get to know campus staff and student groups. Campus tours will be available.

4:15 pm

Cup of Blessing

Come as we gather around Christ’s table for Holy Communion and a common meal.

Tuesday, August 29

8:00 am

Breakfast & Registration

Pick up your name tag and schedule, grab breakfast, and meet fellow students!

Faculty and staff will review your curriculum requirements, review registration and course planning resources, academic writing, plagiarism and Moodle (Luther's online learning platform).

Morning in Context

Join with a small group to meet Christian Public Leaders living out their callings in particular contexts.

Attend the
MN State Fair!

Join other new students at "The Great Minnesota Get-Together." The MN State Fair is the largest state fair in the United States by average daily attendance and is within walking distance from the seminary. 

Thursday, August 31

7:00 am

Morning Yoga

Bring a mat or towel and wear comfortable clothing.

8:00 am

Library Breakfast and Tours

Enjoy an al fresco continental breakfast on the plaza in front of Gullixson Hall. Mini-tours of the library and archives will be offered at 10-minute intervals.

Worship in the Old Muskego Church

9:30 am

Smart Money Management for Seminary Students

Smart Money Management includes 1) The importance of using a budget and tracking spending; 2) Conquering credit card debt and preventing excess student loan debt; 3) Building a strong credit score while avoiding deb;t 4) finding safe help via free Financial Choice access. Luther's financial aid policies and procedures will also be reviewed.

Financial Nuts & Bolts of Seminary

Learn how to navigate your student account and finance your education with loans, grants and scholarships. Navigating finances from a theological perspective will also be addressed.

12:30-4:30 pm

Boundary Workshop

Boundary Workshops focus on boundary issues leaders face in faith communities. Completion of this workshop is required for students in all degree programs prior to internship placement or graduation.

Back to School Block Party &7 Donation Drive!

All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend the Back to School Block Party and Donation Drive for the 2017-2018 school year!  Bring your family and get to know more of your fellow seminarians and seminary community. Donations will be collected for Lutheran Social Services' "Blizzard Boxes."
