The Morphology Assistant is a tool inside BibleWorks that allows you to search for particular parts of speech (nouns, verbs, pronouns, etc.), rather than particular words. This is especially helpful when you want to see examples of a new verb form, or declension ending you are learning, or when you want to find out how a particular tense, mood, part of speech, etc. is used in a certain book or author.
Things to keep in mind:
- To use the Morphology Assistant, you have to add its button to your toobar. To do this, click on the "button bar setup" button , find the Morphology Assistant button and click Add. The Morphology Assistant button will be added to your button bar at the far right of the screen.
- You may only do morphological searches on Bible versions that have "morphology" in the title. These are listed in a drop down box at the top of the Morphology Assistant.
- If you want to look for how a part of speech or tense or other morphological element is used in a particular part of the Bible (Paul's letters, or the book or Proverbs, or a single story in Scripture, etc), apply limits to your search before you open the Morphology Assistant window.
