Zeus, often called "Savior" because of the benefits he was said to
provide, was one of the principal deities worshiped in Laodicea. Zeus was
the highest of the gods in the traditional Greek pantheon.
Apollo, the son of Zeus, was known for sending messages through oracles.
There was a shrine to Apollo at Claros. Delegations from Laodicea would go to the shrine
each year seeking
guidance from Apollo. |
