Congregation Description:St Timothy is a vibrant community, begun in 1952, with strong lay leadership and firmly committed to the neighborhood in Como Park. There is a wide cross-section of ages, with many children and families involved as well as active youth participation. St Timothy is a healthy church, having dealt with some conflict in the early 2000s and working through clearer communication and outward-focus. The people of St Timothy enjoy being together and enjoy welcoming others, as well as inviting others to participation in life here. The people here also have a strong sense of involvement in the community through Loaves and Fishes, Habitat for Humanity, and other ways of sharing with others in times of need.
Congregation Keywords:An urban church with an informal feel, tucked away in a residential neighborhood and interested in reaching out to the community.

Autobiography:Born into a Danish-American family, I grew up Lutheran and sometime in college I decided that's what really fit. I'm married with two kids who are pretty cool. I've served at Grace and Arendahl in rural Peterson, MN, Bethlehem in Mankato, Roseville in Roseville, and now I have been here at St Timothy for 4 years. I like reading poetry (Jane Hirshfield and Wendell Berry are two examples) and enjoy Tony De Mello's stories. I'm involved in the community through volunteering at Parkview Center School, where my son attends, and helping out with my daughter's school events. My wife and I like to watch birds, run our dog, and get together with friends. Science and theology are an interesting connection point for me. I like to savor the little bits of joy around us everyday. I like being at St Timothy; it is a wonderful community of faith.
