Congregation Description:small community church located in residential area close to Centennial Elementary and High School; a few blocks from the intersection of I 35W and Lexington Avenue - just three blocks east of Fleet Farm store on North Road.
Worship is Sunday at 8:30 and 10:45 am, Sunday School at 9:30; Wed. worship at 6:30 pm (as part of the confirmation program), Youth activities Wed. at 7.
Local mission and ministry connexcted to food shelf and Family Table at Our Savior's Church, Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids; youth mission trips each summer; also connected through world missions to Tanzania and Slovakia - a teaching mission trip departs every other year.
Larger classes of students have graduated , so we now have fewer children in Sunday School, confirmation and in high school group.
Lots of babies being baptized, so have recently begun a 'Cherub Choir' for pre-school and early elementary children.

Autobiography:I am a second career pastor (1st was farmer). Came to the cities in 1981 to begin Luther Sem. and have lived here ever since, serving in the St. Paul Area synod (and predecessor) the entire time. married, three adult children, two grandchildren. Spouse is Kathy who is an elementary teacher in the Mounds View School District. I have served four different congregations during this time: a very large suburban church for 20 years (16 ordained plus 4 during seminary)where I was assoc. pastor and also supervisor to several con. ed. students; a smaller church in Stillwater where I was senior pastor for 4 years - redeveloped the whole staff structure; interim senior pastor in Maplewood for 1 year - also restructuring staff positions; and here at St. Mark for 7 years.
Involved currently with local Centennial Areas Ministerium and projects, and helping to suport local ministries to young people living in mobile home parks.
Interests - biking in summer, skiing in winter, grandkids - all the time!
