The Hayes Bible Initiative equips ministry leaders with Bibles to place directly into the hands of those they serve.
As churches and families navigate an increasingly digital and secular age, many young people lack the skills to read a Bible on their own, and leaders welcome practical tools that help deepen biblical engagement.
This resource allows organizations to request Bibles to be sent to them free of charge. Offering age-appropriate Bibles reaches camps and congregations alike, ensuring organizations are equipped with the resources they need to serve those around them.
By supporting leaders who serve children, youth, and families, the project continues its long‑standing commitment to ‘get the Word out’ in ways that are relevant and impactful.

About the Hayes
David and Andrea Hayes became connected with Luther Seminary in 1995 as David began serving on the Board of Directors. The Hayes’ came up with the idea for The Bible Initiative when they took note that many churches and chapels didn’t have physical Bibles in their pews. As they noticed this lack of resource, David thought about his father’s time as a Gideon, and The Hayes Bible Initiative was born. This project captures the spirit and heart of the Hayes and their desire for all people to have access to the Word of God.
