On Sunday, May 22, students of the class of 2016 and their families and friends gathered at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis for the 147th Commencement ceremonies. In all, 157 students graduated with a variety of degrees including Master of the Arts, Master of Divinity, Doctor of Ministry, Master of Theology and certificates. Robin Steinke, seminary president, and Laura Thelander, seminary pastor, officiated the ceremonies. Lois Malcolm, professor of systematic theology, gave the faculty address. Benjamin Eisele, ’16, gave the student address.
The Commencement ceremonies were preceded on Saturday by a service of Holy Communion in the Chapel of the Incarnation at Luther Seminary. Rolf Jacobson, professor of Old Testament, served as presiding minister and Steve Paulson, professor of systematic theology, preached.
