Luther Seminary is pleased to announce that on January 25, 2019, the University Senate of the United Methodist Church approved Luther Seminary for listing for the preparation of candidates for ordination in the United Methodist Church without qualification. This means that after extensive, rigorous application our approval has been fully renewed for all United Methodist students seeking ordination to deacon or elder, or any other formal leadership through their annual conference.
“We’re grateful to have a strong partnership with the United Methodist Church and our United Methodist colleagues and students,” said Dirk Lange, Luther Seminary’s Academic Dean. “In dialogue with the theological gifts of the Methodist tradition, we are all enriched as a learning community by Methodist students of all kinds in our midsts and our partnership with congregations in the Wesleyan/Methodist tradition.”
