Luther Seminary recently received a $150,000 grant from Trinity Church Wall Street in support of the Seeds Project Fellowship. In an age when people are likely to seek the good apart from God, the Seeds Project seeks to empower Christian innovators who are focused on helping spiritual seekers and disciples of Jesus discover the difference Jesus makes in everyday life.
Through a competitive application process, two cohorts of twelve fellows each have been formed for 2021. The fellows represent a highly diverse mix of ministry contexts, identities, and church traditions. They will connect regularly through the year for shared learning, mutual support, and coaching. Each fellow receives a $10,000 stipend. The seminary will share what the Seeds Project Fellows learn through Faith+Lead and a forthcoming Seeds online platform.
Trinity Church, an Episcopal parish in New York City, chose to support the project as part of its commitment to leadership development. In addition to the grant from Trinity, the project has been funded by individual donors.
