Mid-Winter Convocation covers worship in a time of change
From Feb. 5-7, church leaders gathered at Luther Seminary to talk about worshiping God faithfully in a seemingly unending time of crisis and change in the church. Attendees gathered at Mid-Winter Convocation 2013: Worship in a Time of Change to speak out loud about how to be bold and faithful Christian leaders in today’s changing world.

Celebration of Biblical Preaching tells the story
On Oct. 1-3, pastors and lay leaders assembled at Luther Seminary for the Celebration of Biblical Preaching. This year’s theme, Preaching the Story, explored how to best preach the old, old story for a new day and age. Speakers talked about the challenge of preaching the good news with courage, creativity and confidence.
Tough Mind, Tender Heart
When Laura Thelander saw Luther Seminary had an open campus pastor position, her first thought was, “This sounds like my dream job.” Now, she is well in the midst of her role on campus. Since Feb. 1, Thelander has been leading the seminary in worship and offering pastoral care. She has already spent a good deal of time in conversation with students, faculty and staff.
Artistic Mission
Emilie Bouvier, Luther Seminary’s current artist-in-residence, has a passion for photography. With her work, she seeks to capture quiet moments and show the profound nature of light and simplicity.
