Did You Accept the Challenge?

In July of 2002 an anonymous donor, whom we'll refer to as Anon from this point forward, issued a challenge to Luther Seminary's friends and alumni/ae. He said, "Make a first time or increased gift to Luther Seminary's Sustaining Fund and I'll match it!"

Anon has a unique passion for encouraging gifts to Luther Seminary's Sustaining Fund. He understands the importance of an institution having funds to be used where they're most needed. This includes anything from new books for the library, to scholarship support for students in need, to cross cultural learning experiences for our future church leaders.

How much did Anon match? $1.03 Million dollars! Over 3,200 households (exactly 50 percent of our total number of donor households) stepped forward during our last fiscal year to make a personal investment in the mission of Luther Seminary--knowing that it would have an even greater impact when matched by Anon. Thanks be to God!
