Dear Friends,
What makes a vibrant learning community? Here at Luther Seminary, that’s a question we’ve been asking ourselves lately.
Our mission to educate leaders for Christian communities—and our vision to do so through faithful innovation for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ—has called us to reimagine what theological education looks like in the 21st century.
That’s not to say that the fundamentals change: It starts with the academic rigor for which Luther Seminary has always been known. From there, it extends to creating an environment in which Christian public leaders are deeply formed by the gospel—a formation that is enacted through classroom study, communal worship, passionate conversation, and inclusive community.
In this issue of Story, I invite you to spend some time getting to know the vibrant learning community Luther Seminary is becoming. Meet the diverse group of students spearheading an innovative project to renew the spiritual practice of our community. Get a glimpse of the design concepts that will shape the campus of the future and communicate our forward-looking vision through architecture and open space. See how Luther Seminary graduates have a global impact.
This is an exciting time to be a part of the Luther story. Join us as we live into the inspiring future to which God is calling us.
Peace and joy,
Robin J. Steinke, President
