WOV 651, “Shine, Jesus, Shine”
Devotion
Shine on Me!
A beautiful person is one whom everybody notices. A charming person, on the other hand, is one who notices you! It is wonderful to be noticed, recognized, and acknowledged. There can be no relationship unless two people look at each other and take note, one of the other.
In our state of neediness, we look to the One with whom God is pleased and know, somehow, that he will satisfy our needs and desires. Jesus, the Son of God, the One on whom the light of heaven shines, also desires to be in relationship with us.
The beauty and charm of Jesus is that he is not aloof, not distant. Jesus makes eye contact with us, and sees us and understands our situation entirely. The circle of light that encompasses Jesus extends outward and the light of Jesus falls on us as well.
Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, your splendor is too much for me. I thank you that by your brightness you see me in all of my needs. Amen.
