Verse 1O Lord, who may abide in your tent? Who may dwell on your holy hill?
Devotion
The tent of the Lord is “holy ground.” The facilities of our church are a statement of our love of God. There are a number of gifts of the Spirit that make our churches “holy ground.” When visiting a church, you notice how the people of God keep God’s house and show their love and pride. Is the grass mowed? Is the entrance clean and uncluttered? Are the pews neat and clear of last week’s bulletins? Are the walls painted? Is the sound system working? Is the altar polished and not covered with dust? The parishioners who take on these responsibilities each week are using their gifts to bring glory to God. Some members may not always notice this care for our worship facilities, but visitors do, and so will those who recognize a congregation that loves and honors its God.
Prayer
Dear God, whose presence at our worship makes it “holy ground,” help us to honor that visit with a beautiful church. Amen.
