Verse 1O Lord, who may abide in your tent? Who may dwell on your holy hill?
Verse 2Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right, and speak the truth from their heart;
Verse 3who do not slander with their tongue, and do no evil to their friends, nor take up a reproach against their neighbors;
Verse 4in whose eyes the wicked are despised, but who honor those who fear the Lord; who stand by their oath even to their hurt;
Verse 5who do not lend money at interest, and do not take a bribe against the innocent. Those who do these things shall never be moved.
Devotion
Who is God? In a more pluralistic world with a growing number of people who claim no faith, we might assume that this question would be asked less and less. My experience, however, is that it seems to be asked more and more. There is often a deep personal tone to the question, "Who do you say God is?" Even when not clearly articulated, what they really want to know if God is personal and approachable to you.
As a new church in an old night club our setting is different from many other churches. We find we get a lot of those folks who manage to venture in with comments like, "Well, God is going to strike me with lightning!" The truth is we are allowed to enter in and worship God even in this somewhat surprising sanctuary. In spite of where you have been, you are welcome to come in here.
Prayer
Magnificent God, we enter your holy presence to bring you our worship and praise. For the gift of your grace and for all the ways you bless our day, we give you our thanks. Amen.
