Verse 11Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels surrounding the throne and the living creatures and the elders; they numbered myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, Verse 12singing with full voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slaughtered to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!" Verse 13Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, singing, "To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!" Verse 14And the four living creatures said, "Amen!" And the elders fell down and worshiped.
Devotion
In this amazing vision of John, we read of the greatest change of all, the complete redemption of all that is, all that was, and all that will be. Here are angels and living creatures and the elders, gathered together in worship of the “Lamb that was slaughtered,” our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We who live in the present, in this time of waiting for this culminating event, certainly may question “What do we do in the meantime?” We live in hope of God’s mercy looking forward to that time. We also live in this time in a world in need of God’s love and grace. We live working to change the world we live in, pointing to this time yet to come when everyone can sing, “To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” Amen!
Prayer
Gracious Lord, lead us to change your world, sharing your love and redemption. Amen.
