I Surrender All (This Far by Faith 235)
Refrain:
I surrender all,
I surrender all,
All to thee, my blessed Saviour,
I surrender all.
All to Jesus I surrender,
All to him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust him,
In his presence daily live.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at his feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
Take me, Jesus, take me now.
All to Jesus I surrender;
Make me, Saviour, wholly thine;
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that thou art mine.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to thee,
Fill me with thy love and power,
Let thy blessing fall on me.
All to Jesus I surrender;
Now I feel the sacred flame.
Oh, the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to his name!

Devotion
“I surrender all” voices our resolve to entrust every care and concern into the hands of our Savior who can bear the burdens of life. This surrender is only possible because of Jesus’ grace and mercy. He invites the weary to come and find rest. As we yield every anxiety and fear to Jesus, we acknowledge his steadfast love and experience the peace that flows from trusting in him. In this humble submission, we discover that Jesus helps carry our burdens and restores our hope.
Life can be difficult, even overwhelming at times, when busyness and endless demands for our attention threaten to drown us. It’s precisely in those moments when we need to “Let go and let God,” trusting that we, like children, can be totally dependent on Jesus who invites us to surrender our need to be in control in exchange for his peace that gives us rest.
Prayer
Enduring God, thank you for the gift of Jesus with whom we are yoked. Help us to surrender everything to him in prayer. Give us grace this and every day to love and trust Jesus with all our heart and with all our soul. Amen.
