Devotion
“Beautiful Savior” is a favorite hymn of mine. We sang it at our wedding. The music and words lift you up. It reminds us of all the love God gives us, not out of some necessity, but because he wishes to do it out of great love.
The hymn describes Jesus as a divine power, who reaches out to humanity to show them the world he has created for them. It shows us the comfort and hope that he will give to a sorrowing spirit.
Prayer
Gracious Lord, we thank you for your beautiful creation for us—reaching from the striking power of thunderstorms and floods to the tiny fragility of a wisteria flower. When we lay in the back yard with stars in the dark sky, we see the shiny lights that make the night magic. How creative and imaginative you are! Amen.
