Hallelujah!
I am excited to announce that we have exceeded the fundraising goal for the Listen! God is Calling campaign for the future of the church. More than 15,000 faithful investors have given over $98 million. You can watch a short video about this amazing result here. Thank you for your generosity and support!
Because of your trust and investment in our Jubilee Scholarship strategy, we achieved our goal to cut graduate indebtedness by one-third, and we did it two years sooner than we thought possible!
The impact of this campaign didn’t stop there. We expanded our digital platforms, providing quality theological content for Christian leaders and everyday diciples. Thanks to you,
- 20,000 people now use Enter the Bible monthly,
- 25,000+ God Pause subscribers receive daily devotions,
- 123,000 users have visited Faith+Lead in the past year, and
- 3.6 million people (including 365,000 Spanish speakers) have visited Working Preacher in the past year.
The MDivX pilot—which tested an accelerated two-year Master of Divinity degree—proved a success! We are helping the church reimagine theological education by
- Discovering the power of cohort-based education,
- Reimagining the role of internship in the leadership formation of our students,
- Reducing the cost and time required to obtain a degree.
Stay tuned for news about how we will incorporate what we learned from the pilot into our academic programs.
Your support fuels our innovation and agility, including our transition to 100% virtual classroom attendance within 24 hours at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. In-person community and learning has returned, but in forms we never imagined when this campaign began. Your investments prepared us to meet the challenges of our world. Luther Seminary emerged from this pandemic financially strong and with a growing interest in our degree programs. Nearly 600 students have graduated since May 2018, and we have maintained a 91% retention rate.
It is our goal to meet the needs of the faith communities we serve as they work to form Christian identity and practice with their members, and the children and neighbors in the communities they are called to serve.
You make this work possible.
Thank you for walking alongside us in our shared mission to educate leaders for Christian communities.
Yours faithfully,
Robin J. Steinke, President
