Beginning next summer, Luther Seminary will make its new campus home at River Parkway Place in downtown Minneapolis. This follows the board’s decision over a year ago, in May 2025, to sell our current campus and begin seeking a campus space that would help the seminary continue to fulfill its mission to educate leaders for the Christian communities. In addition to finalizing the long-term lease at River Parkway Place this month, we have also announced the sale of our current campus.
Luther Seminary’s new home is close to the Stone Arch Bridge along the Mississippi River and in a neighborhood adjacent to many historic Lutheran sites. After reviewing dozens of potential properties, River Parkway Place was a clear fit for our community. It’s a LEED Gold-certified building that is fully accessible, with a walkable neighborhood, access to public transit, and access to outdoor space along the river. We continue to work with our architects, project managers, and generous donors in renovating the interior of the building for the seminary’s office, classroom, library, worship, technology, and workspace needs.
As I shared last month, we are also excited to be expanding our partnership with Augsburg University by offering housing for residential students on Augsburg’s campus, just a mile away from our new home.
We can’t wait to welcome you to our new space. The community’s conversations and discernment—including extensive research and interviews with staff, faculty, and students—have led us to a new campus that, after these careful renovations, will be for us a wonderful place to teach, learn, worship, and be in community together.
As always, our community is enlivened by our remarkable, faithful students. As we begin this new academic year, we are delighted to have 219 students registered for our fall RFS intensives and over 432 students enrolled this fall. Please continue to pray for our students as they discern their paths to continued Christian ministry and leadership.
You, too, are among the blessings we count. The work of Luther Seminary is to continue to partner with you and siblings across the globe to grow our capacity for educating leaders ready to serve the church and witness to God’s love and justice in this world.
Peace,
Robin Steinke
President
