The Olympics dominated my TV in August. I watched everything from swimming to badminton, from beach volleyball to the marathon. I cheered every American athlete until late into the night. My trip to China in August also made the games more special.

Anonymous Donor Offers Make it Happen Match Opportunity
Gifts to Luther Seminary’s Sustaining Fund make a significant impact on the future leadership of the church. This past year gifts to the Sustaining Fund helped Luther launch the first Distributed Learning Master of Divinity program within the ELCA, helping students who couldn’t previously attend seminary now answer “Yes!” to God’s call. Renowned Scholars Bring Views to KAIROS
Renowned scholars Ellen F. Davis and Roy Oswald will present KAIROS courses this fall. Davis focuses on theological interpretation of the Old Testament with particular concern for Christian preaching. Oswald is known for research focusing on the pastoral role and the dynamics of parish leadership.
