Devotion

It seems a gracious thing that God repeated the promise to Abraham: “Your descendants will be as numerous as the stars ... ” Abraham could have forgotten these words, or thought he’d dreamt them, especially when so much time had passed with no children of his own. Sometimes we need to be reminded of God’s promises to us – especially in the middle of the week, when life is crowding in on us and signs of Christ’s coming are nowhere in sight. So we’ll stand with Abraham, looking to the heavens, straining to catch a glimpse of what seems almost too good to be true.
