Verse 1Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people; from those who are deceitful and unjust deliver me!

Verse 3O send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling.
Verse 4Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy; and I will praise you with the harp, O God, my God.
Verse 5Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my God.

O send your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling.” Psalm 43:3 (NRSV)
A parson was once caught in a blizzard by night. Staggering homeward through howling winds and blinding snow, he knew he would soon die unless he reached shelter. He prayed for God to lead him to safety.
The storm lessened. Looking up, the parson saw a dim light ahead. Struggling toward it, he soon found himself safely inside his little country church. Braving the fury of the storm, his wife had watched and waited for him, posting a lantern in the steeple to light the way.
When darkness threatens, look for the light of God’s Word to guide you safely home!
