Verse 11Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels surrounding the throne and the living creatures and the elders; they numbered myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, Verse 12singing with full voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slaughtered to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!" Verse 13Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, singing, "To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!" Verse 14And the four living creatures said, "Amen!" And the elders fell down and worshiped.
Devotion
Worthy is the Lamb that was slaughtered
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might
and honor and glory and blessing!
Throughout Revelation, John refers to Jesus as the Lamb of God. It's a striking image of the sacrifice God provides for the salvation of humanity. The brokenness of creation is revealed in the sacrifice of Jesus. And yet, in the midst of sorrow all of creation rejoices. We rejoice because in Christ's death there is new life and salvation for all who believe!
All creation joins in our rejoicing! We hear creation's praise in the song of the birds and the rush of the wind. We see creation's praise in the beauty of the skies and the blooms of spring. And as we continue to celebrate Christ's triumph over death, we remember that through Christ's death we are saved. It is in Christ crucified that we have eternal life.
Prayer
Almighty God, we join all creation in singing your praises: To you be honor and glory forever! Amen.
